About Tinytime

Time is a constant that has always been, and will remain.

Building nixie clocks is originated from the hobby of building tube amplifiers. Nixie tubes fascinate, look mysterious, and give this sooting feeling, despite the fact that other clocks are very intersting to build and develop.

This is a picture of an early prototype, using an Arduino Nano development board in combination with an DS3231 Real Time Clock (RTC). This RTC is a clock with an internal Temprature Compensated Crystal Oscillator (TCXO) which is almost not affected by temperature, making it accurate down to 1 or 2 minutes per year at the most.

With the experience of the prototype, the heart of my clocks is now an own developed small clock board Arduino pin-compatible.

With an ATmega328 microcontroller, a DS3231 RTC, and a backup battery.

This single unit with battery will keep running, even if the clock is off power. Using this as a base it is more easy to develop other clocks. As example, this is the modular built of a IN-12 Nixie clock, with a clock board, control and power board, and a display board, everything is Tinytime design.

Except the 3D housings, the enclosures are handcrafted.

At the moment other type of clocks are developed, also non-Nixie which soon will be available in the webshop.
